Train on the Trails
Who this class is for: Intermediate to advanced handler/dog teams who are looking to learn how to navigate hiking trails safely. (Your dog should have already passed my Basic Manners course or have some other great foundations under his belt.)
I bring my dog, Beau (pictured top left!), but other than that it's just you and me, unless you bring a friend!
In a public setting we work on:
-
Proper socialization
-
Focus and attention
-
Stay/wait
-
Come when called
-
Staying close when on long-line leash (30 ft)
-
How to safely navigate potential obstacles (bridges, other hikers/dog/cyclists, creeks, boulders, fields, mud, etc.)
-
Loose leash walking
-
Decompression and having FUN!
We will share our extensive knowledge of exploring the wilderness. With years of personal experience hiking, this is sure to be a fun class for you and your best friend! There's nothing better than having your dog as your outdoor companion, we will help get you there!
